Car of the future

I saw this car on an MSN news article, and thought it was the coolest car I’ve ever seen. It looks like something out of Minority Report.

It comes in two models: electric-only and hybrid. The hybrid gets about 300 miles per gallon. The electric will travel 120 miles on a single charge. Both models are under $30,000, and production is slated to begin in late 2008.

I’d like to think of this as a prototype of the car of the future: excellent gas mileage (for the models that use gas), low emissions, environmentally friendly, yet sturdy, safe, and (relatively) inexpensive.

The car is initially only going to be available in California. I’m sure that with time they will move to other areas as well.
